TC 10

Took this picture for Tracey & Makena - this was Makena's outfit.

Addison's first Mexican restaurant :) We went to El Azteca in Ames. She thought the basket of chips and "sauce" was pretty cool. We went here on Oct. 4, the night before the TCU football game.

Whew, October 5 was a crazy day. The TCU game was scheduled for 11am. Our tailgate at the Alumni Center opened at 8am. At 8:15am, we got the announcement that the game was delayed 2 hours. Ugh. I won't go into all the details, but it was a mess! And it was stressful. We left the building open till 12:30pm but the food and bar service had to stop at 10:30am. We probably had 800 people easily in the building. On a normal game day we maybe have 400 in the building at time. People were laying in the hallway taking naps, you couldn't even walk through rooms because people were on the floor everywhere. We had happy people and mad people. I'm so glad that day is over!!

After the game finally ended, Kelly and I hopped in the car and drove to MN.

So that we could get up the next morning at 4:30am and go run the TC 10. On Friday afternoon, Kelly had called me that they had an extra bib for the TC 10 on Sunday morning. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to join her. Ha! It was about 40 degrees when we started. Felt a little chilly at first but then actually it felt really good when we got going. We were running from downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. Paul. We ended at the capital. The hills killed me (Bondurant is 100% flat) but we made it!
I enjoyed the race, there were tons of people. I think they had 4 or 5 waves of people starting the race. You were pretty much always weaving or watching out for people the whole way. It was distracting and nice. And there were people along the route playing music and cheering you on. This was the furthest I had ever run, it was a pretty big accomplishment for me! And of course it was fun to do it with Kelly and her friends. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be running at all!
