Yummm....Ice Cream.....

We are frequent customers of Pizza Ranch....We love that you never wait, it's loud so Addison doesn't disturb anyone, and we can give Addison a variety of food. Including ice cream! I love this photo in that she is trying to look at me but wants that ice cream :) Little girl tried dessert pizza and LOVES it (no surprise given her parents). So whenever we return from the buffet, she checks out our plates to see if there is any dessert pizza. If there is, she says "more more more" and reaches for it until we give it to her. If not, she will go on with whatever she has in front of her.

Then after pizza ranch, we usually stop at Fareway (right next door). I had to laugh when I saw her checking out the ads. Training my little bargain shopper. She likes to lean over in the cart and hand things to the checker.

She loves pushing Baby Ashley in her stroller. If you ask her "where your baby?" she will run around the house saying "Baby? Baby?" then when she finds her she squeals "BABY!!" Then runs over to show me. She loves to feed her baby milk from the bottle and put the baby in the crib to go night-night. It's amazing to me how much instinct she has and how she pays attention on what to do with the baby.

Reading makes me sleepy too.

She's one cool cat!

I don't know how she makes such a mess with pudding!! I feed her sugar-free pudding, which I think needs cool whip but she eats it without :)

A strange talent....

We have these small round magnets that came on Addison's valentine from daycare last year, and she's obsessed with them. She loves to carry them around. All the time. One evening, she was hanging out watching Paw Patrol and I saw her balancing them on her feet. She was working so hard at it! I truly wonder what ever made her think to try putting them on her feet. And yes, her little cheeks were pretty red, they were chapped that evening.

Happy little girl! In the picture on the left, she had a plastic band-aid on her arm. She thought it was a bracelet. We then taught her how to say "owie". She has been learning so many new words lately! In about the last 2-3 weeks I think her vocabulary has doubled. Here are some of her words: Buh-Bye, Night-night, water, turkey, cracker, one more, pig, cow, dog, puppy, bunny, rag, airplane, hippo, off, on, up, down, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, hat, elbow, neck, nose, eyes, all done, bread, blue, yellow, red, purple, etc. I'm sure there are more, I didn't realize how many words she knew until I started typing them out!

Yes she's spoiled, she was begging for a cookie before supper. I justified as it "it doesn't have frosting so it's okay"

One Saturday morning she was playing in the living room. Then she climbed up on the couch, snuggled up, and told Ryan "night-night". She took a 30 min snooze. ha!

Can I get a back rub?

If you lay down on the floor, Addison comes over to sit on top and bounce up and down. She thinks it's hilarious. I tried to teach her how to give a back rub while Ryan was laying on the floor.

Happy girl! Her hair is getting longer.....

So we tried to put it in a ponytail - didn't work so well. So the water fountain on top of her head will just have to do!

She is incredibly happy because she just took her socks off. She LOVES to take her socks off and then pick out any fuzzies between her toes. It's kind of weird. If she's cranky, just take her socks off and she goes straight for her toes, happy as a clam.

When she unwrapped her Cabbage Patch Kid from Santa and her dad put together the crib and stroller, she tried to sit in the stroller immediately. I never thought she would think the stroller is for her! She worked pretty hard, but eventually she got in the stroller! She was pretty proud of herself. The stroller is pretty flimsy so we try to keep her out of it!! But of course we let her sit in it long enough to get a picture :)

Happy Anniversary

Happy 4th Anniversary! We didn't do anything fun or exciting this year, but we did still take a photo. Ryan's family was leaving that day so we just hung out at our house. Then right after they left that afternoon, we took down and put away all the Christmas decor. We ate leftovers for supper and went to bed before the new year. Not a real exciting anniversary but maybe next year we will do something fun to celebrate!

More Lents Christmas

Addison was making sure Garrett knew he was a baby. She kept saying "Baby. Baby. Baby" repeatedly. In these photos she probably did it for 10 minutes straight. And yes pointing the finger in his face :)

I love this photo. Garrett is anxiously awaiting Addison to tell him he's a baby :)

Grandma Rita, we found that mouse again!

Aunt Ginny has the best toys! Addison loved this little duck train. It was pretty cool. They just don't make toys like they used to!

Addison and her buddy Travis! We can't wait to invite ourselves to Kevin and Mallory's farm to play!

Great Grandma Marie and Great Grandpa Don with some but not all of the great grandkids.

Travis and Addison again - she thinks he's so funny :)

More gifts!

Love that smile! She warms up soooo much faster when there are kids around. But she didn't let any adults get too close to her. Thankfully she didn't really yell at anyone for getting too close. She never really warmed up to Brad and Lori even though they stayed with us.

Yup, Garrett is still a baby. ha!

Lents family Christmas

Addison had a good time passing out gifts at Dale & Evonne's house for the Lent's Christmas.

Tried to get a picture of them, this was the best I got.

I can't tell you how surprised Ryan and I were that Addison wasn't crying - ha! Apparently Nolan's Daniel Tiger toy was the secret weapon.

Addison and Dad

I put this LeapFrog cell phone on Addison's Christmas list. We have one that we borrowed from Henry that is an older model that's discontinued. She LOVED that cell phone. We were scared she would break it and we couldn't replace Henry's, so we thought she needed her own. Henry's has real buttons though, that was nice. Addison was so excited about the cell phone she wouldn't hardly let go of the package so we could open it! She had to teach Grandpa Dale how to run a smart phone.

This photo went better, even though Addison wouldn't put her phone down!

Dale, Evonne, and Garrett - such a happy little baby!

Work Work Work.....

December 26 was Makena's 12th birthday. We tried to Facetime Makena and she didn't answer. This is what happens when someone doesn't answer their Facetime...... It's the end of the world. Who would want to break this little girl's heart by not wanting to talk to her?!? haha!

Shoveling in mashed potatoes....yummm....

Playing with her lady bug. She was walking it like a dog.

The day after Christmas was mostly spent cleaning, getting ready for company. I didn't even have to ask for help, Addison just jumped right in! She is actually is pretty good about helping to put things away and doing laundry. We are amazed about how we can give her an instruction and she knows what we are talking about and does it. I talk to her constantly, not expecting her to understand all the time. I was vacuuming that day and told her we needed to find the piece that does the kitchen floor. She ran over next to the couch, grabbed the piece, and brought it back. I was shocked and impressed! I also now just have to tell her which pile of laundry to put in the washer and she makes many trips but gets it done. I have to put the detergent in, but she can start it by herself. She's pretty good at helping us, but she can make a mess faster than she cleans up  - ha! She loves to say "mess" and point to messy areas. (She also repeats it about 12 times)

Goofy girl, she kept making this face at dinner that night.

Here was our Christmas craft project in the Lents house. We were pretty proud of ourselves. ha!

Santa!!

Addison slept well Christmas Eve night but still woke up by 6am Christmas Day. But she slept through the night so we consider that a win!

Addison did pretty good opening gifts. Better than I expected anyways!

Opening her Cabbage Patch Kid from Santa!

Santa brought her a basketball game that makes noise. It was a hit! For both her and Dad :)

Taking care of her new baby. Santa must know us well, both Addison and Mom loved the new baby - ha! It came with a crib and a stroller. Addison was putting the baby to bed.

It didn't take long to teach Addison how to push her baby in the stroller.

When we said Addison needed to feed her baby her milk, she apparently thought the baby got real milk. She had to test it for herself!

Baby Ashley is all tucked it. She puts her in the crib, covers her with the blanket, then pats her on the head and says "night night" then runs away - haha!

Christmas was great! The three of us just hung out at home and enjoyed the day. We did quite a bit of cleaning though, we were expecting company the rest of the week. We tried to relax a little bit on Christmas day, then did many hours of cleaning on the 26th :)
