Omaha's Children Museum

To celebrate the last days of school, daycare, and the start of summer, we took a weekend to visit Omaha. We spent the first day at the Omaha Children's Museum. We had free admission thanks to the DSM Science Center family pass that Tracey buys for the kids!

Started out at the dinosaur exhibit.

Mason loved the little elephant slide.

Des Moines Science Center has a "ball wall" that we love. Tubes with air flowing that you can put balls through and see where they come out. It's fun! BUT MAN OH MAN.... Omaha has a BALL ROOM!! It's this great big room with all sorts of tubes for balls. The picture on the right, you can shoot balls through a canon or throw them into the targets. Ryan spent a lot time at this game - ha! There was all sorts of fun things to do in this room.

They had a car maintenance shop, the kids had a good time! They would look under the hood and change the tire.

They could even slide under the car to check for issues.

And they were both fascinated with the telephone. Addison was busy taking phone calls and talking to customers. Then she would yell things over to Mason about what to do. Ha!

We had a picnic lunch outside in the picnic area. There was also an old fire engine there.

They had a huge water play area. Ryan enjoyed it as much as Mason.

We spent a lot of time in the market area. There were restaurants and a grocery area, complete with little carts and cash registers that made noise.

Mason of course loved the farming exhibit! The tractor made noises too, always a plus.

We took these pictures for Grandma Rita..... even though she didn't work the drive-up, we should thought she would appreciate the bank photos!

Addison loved the doctor office..... complete with crutches! She could stand on the pad and it completed a full body scan and told her what was broken. There was also an examination table and babies for her to do check-ups on.

Mason working hard in the restaurant. There was even a coke machine with buttons to push that lit up.

She completed a survey that told her what she should be when she grows up. Ha!

Then we found the maker's space! I had to talk Ryan into it....but eventually he agreed to try a little project.

We had to put on safety goggles then could go through the box of scrap wood and then be creative. Which we are not, so we went simple. ha!

The kids got to run the drill, they were nervous and excited.

I love watching Mason's face, he's watching so intently!

Proud of our little box. The best we could do with mismatched shapes of wood. Ha! She loves it though and it sits on her headboard. It was fun!

The Children's Museum was a fun place and different from the Des Moines Science Center. We spent 5 or 6 hours there and only convinced the kids to leave when we told them we could go to the hotel pool :)
