Fun on the Farm

Mason was so excited to see all the equipment!

He didn't believe us that he could climb in the grain bin. He thought that was pretty cool. This photo of him and my dad might be my favorite ever - pure joy!

Mason wanted to get in "the really big one".

Mason's favorite thing to do was climb in each tractor. He wanted to check out each buddy seat as well. He would decide if there was room for Addy to ride along or not. Ha!

He did like riding along a little better on this trip, we have been there 2 more times since then. He is just like Conner..... went through the phase of being terrified of a running tractor. They were so scared for a while, about the same age too. But now at 3, he was slowly starting to get over that.

Zero fear of the four wheeler! He couldn't get enough. My dad and I had to take turns giving him a ride as our thumbs would get sore. Ha!

He ate his lunch so fast then sat and waited on the four wheeler until someone would give him a ride.

He had a little toy truck and he walked it all around the yard on the gravel. It was a slow, tedious process but he was determined.

Grandpa Ron had a tractor with two wagons hooked up, made Mason's day! He went for a ride with this one. I can't remember where they took this one, either to George's or Gary's.

It wasn't on this trip but another trip where the kids made a few trips to the elevator in Pioneer with Grandpa. Every time we pass an elevator, Mason wants to know if it's "Grandpa's Elevator". He doesn't understand why Grandpa can't come to an elevator by our house :)

He thought the semi was pretty cool too.

And loved the trampoline without Addison to compete with. Ha! It was a great day on the farm. It was nice out and he got to do all the things. He did say he missed Addison a little, but I think he enjoyed all the attention.

The zoo and farm

Mason dancing in the church lobby while we waited for Addison at Hope Kids. She wanted to go to church but I didn't figure I should take Mason in with hand, foot, and mouth..... so I took the stroller and Mason and I went for a walk. I made him take his socks off and get some air between those toes!! We walked around the "duck swimming pool" as he called it. Ha! We got to watch lots of ducks and geese. He was entertained. I'm really shocked how good he did wearing a mask. For never having to wear one before, he tolerated it like a champ!

Mason and I really needed entertainment....it was a long week (though looking at pictures it looks like we did a lot!). So we hit up the zoo on a Sunday morning. We made Mason stay in the stroller, except for a few pictures. We had to take some pictures, behind Addison is the red panda! He is real!! We joke that he isn't real because every single time we go, he's not there. Not inside or outside. It's a joke! And Addison loves red pandas after the movie Turning Red. But he was there this day!

The Red Panda is in the background.

Mason and I headed to the farm for the day. He made sure to wear his farming clothes and we sent this picture to Grandpa to say we were coming!

Mason was real excited to see the semi up close!

Little tiny Mason with the big semi (he's in front of the trailer).

One crazy morning

Boy this was a stressful and crazy day..... If I could have cloned myself, it would have been helpful! It was a Saturday morning where I was supposed to coach Addison's softball team (and her play) at the same time she had dance pictures. So I was going to go coach, and Ryan was going to take Mason and Addy to pictures. Well, Friday evening, Ryan wasn't feeling well. He was pretty out of it. I believe he had a fever. So, I backed out of coaching (I was only an assistant but still felt bad!) for that day.

Saturday morning at 7:45am, I loaded up both kids and ran the book to the softball game, but couldn't find the field (lol). Finally found it, raced back to the studio and got there just in time. One of Addison's classes was first, so no chance they were behind! Dance photos is a lengthy process. Ha! But we made it.

To add another layer of difficulty..... Mason still had hand foot and mouth. So I couldn't take him in the studio. So I set up camp for him in the back of the four runner. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful!! Perfect, not too hot, not too cold. I sat on a blanket in the grass and read my book while Mason played in the back end (with the tailgate open). He thought it was so fun! Then Addison would come outside and change her costume in the car instead of the designated changing room in the studio. It was stressful but the kids were amazing and we managed!

She LOVED the gloves. Ha!

So as I said..... Mason couldn't go in the studio. So I had thrown the potty in the car. And he went in the parking lot. Ha! Kelly told me he should have just gone in the trees, which he maybe could of if it wasn't a super busy place. Ha! But we were parked on the end and partially blocked by a tree.

Since Ryan wasn't feeling good and wanted to sleep, I wanted to keep the kids out of the house. So we went to a park in Slater. Addison was so happy to "show Mason around" a playground she had been to and he hadn't.

So, funny story, because of "Mason's spots" as we called them, I didn't want to be at the park when anyone else was. So I told the kids "If I see people walk up, I will say "whoop whoop" and you both come running. We will get in the car and go to another park. No crying or whining, come right away and I will take you to another park."

Mason knew he couldn't be around people because "his spots" so if he saw someone a block away he would yell "MOM!! PEOPLE ARE COMING!!!" hahaha oh buddy. It was funny and embarrassing at the same time. I mean, he was trying to be kind and thoughtful.... haha. People walking their dog, riding bikes, walking, etc. Didn't matter if they were headed to the park or not. Ha!

We had a Casey's pizza picnic!

People really did come, so we did move to another park. We went to Addison's school. She LOVES going to her school playground, which is funny since she plays on it every day. Apparently there is a thrill to her to be there after hours? I don't know. This time they played on the preschool side that she doesn't normally get to go on.
His spots were getting a better. I'm so glad it wasn't worse. And he was 3 when he got it. I can't imagine the stress if he was a baby!!

New Hairstyles

Addison pitching!! She was so excited and I was so happy that she was excited! I wasn't sure how she would feel about being the center of attention.... but I don't think she realized she was. Ha!

And then catching!! She volunteered to catch. The leg pads didn't really fit, they went all the way up her legs that she couldn't bend. But that didn't both her and she worked hard back there!

Tried a new hairstyle for Addison.

Then she tried one on Mason! Ryan was not amused. Mason liked it though! He would often ask Addison to play with his hair or do his hair. Sometimes she just brushes it and sometimes she puts in ponytails. Ha!

The silly faces of Mason!

I was working outside so he could do play-doh. It was nice out! As I type this, we are in a "once in a decade snowstorm". Blizzard conditions. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing the two new houses behind us. Lots of drifting. I'm dreading looking at the driveway. Ryan is in Tennessee and his flight home is canceled. He doesn't know when he will make it home. Ugh.

This is how dirty our deck was....yikes! Mason only sat on the deck to look in the play-doh toy tub. He didn't scoot around or anything. That's what living by farm fields will do!

Yup, taking pictures while driving. Ha! I was right outside Slater I think, I had to take it for the kids to show them I was in a "bus sandwich". Addison was in a "bus sandwich" when she was four and still remembers it and thinks it's SO FUNNY. So they thought this was a hoot. Ha!

Mom and Mason time (aka a week of hand foot & mouth)

Mason thought he was pretty special that he got to break the rules..... I allowed him to eat a snack on the couch!

Little dude got hand foot and mouth from daycare. It was gross. Thankfully he felt good the whole time though!
He had fun taking pictures! Ha!

Oh yes, I was the bad mom who took my kid out when hand foot and mouth.... lol. He did great with the mask. He's so little that he never remembers the masked times. He knew he couldn't touch things and I wiped down the cart when we were done for the next person. We were home for a week with this and I needed to get stuff done!

We had bought ice cream sandwiches at Target and went to the Ames house to eat one.

Then we headed to the park! No one was there and I carried wipes with me :) Ha! For real, we just couldn't stay cooped up!

We stopped and watched the trucks work on our way back home!

This guy got about anything he wanted while sick. It thankfully didn't seem back in his mouth. He really did feel pretty good. His spots were GROSS. His toes were the grossest thing I've ever seen, lol. I made him wear socks all the time because I was worried about Addy catching it! She didn't, thank goodness. It apparently went around the daycares/school and I heard some parents got it. Ryan thinks he got it (he "gets" everything that everyone else has)haha

Taught Mason how to play Hi-Ho Cherry-O. Grandpa Ron and I played this game a lot growing up!

It was a long week at home with hand foot and mouth but it was also fun. He felt good, so we played some and I worked some. I enjoyed some one on one time with my favorite guy! As we said it was a "Mommm and Mmmason day!!"
