Happy Valentine's Day!

We spent a long time trying to decide how to decorate our Valentine's box. We decided on Wreck-it Ralph. It was Addison's favorite movie at the time and I thought it actually might be an easy one. It was :) I found a Wreck-it Ralph image online and we printed it. Addison took great care to color it. We pulled up a picture online and she had to make sure she was coloring the image just as it appeared. She was so excited and so proud of this box!

All ready for Valentine's Day in the outfit Grandma Rita bought her. She LOVES this outfit (haha). She loves that scarf and wants to wear this outfit every time it's clean.

Her Valentine's loot! She loved going through and telling us who got her what. This was all from the little school.

Then she a Valentine's party at the big school the next day. How many kids get TWO Valentine's parties?!? She was loving it. She doesn't even really care to eat the candy that much, she just loves the excitement of the parties. Another successful holiday!

Super Bowl Sunday

We had a very lazy Super Bowl Sunday at the Lents house. COVID kept us home, but we made the most of it. We still made some Super Bowl food and we were pretty excited about it. Mason got pretty wore out by all the festivities, so he had to take a nap.

Addison was pretty tired too. By the start of the game, this is what she was doing.

So they napped together for a little bit - ha!

Addison was so excited for Valentine's Day this year. I don't think she really understood what it meant, but she just knew they were going to be celebrating it at school and that's all that mattered! Instead of candy this year, we did snap bracelets. We get candy from Valentine's Day and Halloween and she doesn't eat it. She was SO EXCITED to get her Valentines ready. We had to do 27 for the little school and 18 for the big school. This was a week early, but she was ready!

Valentine's Photos

You can't tell, but he's in the process of partially breaking the sign. Ugh!

We have this game called "Nibbled" and you have to attach the fish to your clothes. If you guess the right color of the fish on the card you flip, you give your fish to someone else. We have had this game over a year, and Addison beats me every time. Not kidding. This day, I had to take a picture as I actually beat her. She always does a victory dance so yes, I did a victory dance after finally beating her!

This girl was so excited for Valentine's Day!

Oh yes, I love holiday outfits and photos. Ha!

I love these two more than anything! And for now, they love each other too :) Addison never gets mad at him, if he does something naughty she just says "he's a baby and doesn't know any better. It's my job to teach him"

Look at that sweetheart! Since this photo, he has lost some of that sweetness and got a little sass to him. Ha!

9 Months

Aw my happy boy! He enjoys the Baby Bjorn. Especially if he sees himself in the phone, it just cracks him up.

Little dude was 9 months! Look at those little jeans :) At 9 months, he was eating 6 ounces of formula and eating table food. He loves strawberries and cinnamon bread. He was getting better at chewing and consuming the food rather than just spitting it back out. He throws a lot of food though!

These are some of my favorite monthly photos, I think the outfit is super cute! He was 9 months in February and it's April now..... I'm not too far behind - ha!

Addison helps with his photos and sometimes wants in as well.

Addy has a toy that he wants but I said no because I was trying to take photos. Ha! He was quite sad.

She's got her purse, her high heels, and her shades. I believe this time she was a mom who just dropped her kids off at daycare.

Coronavirus vaccines

They had been talking a lot of the Coronavirus vaccines on TV, and Addison was getting pretty excited. We had been praying that her grandparents will be able to get the vaccine so they can be safe from the virus. Addison got her shot from her doctor's kit and she was administering the coronavirus vaccine. Ha!

This little guy is ridiculously flexible.... he likes to sit up and then bend over to chew on his toes. It's crazy!

Poppy was making some cookies in her easy bake oven. She was pretty excited.

"Mom I like juice!!"

This photo, haha! What a goofball! She was so giddy, we were leaving for school and she was Student of the Week. She was so very excited. She had to take some photos of her family, her favorite books, and a favorite toy to show the class.

So Addison is 4 1/2 and this photo is her trying real orange juice for the first time :) She was so nervous and fought us on it. The dentist always tells us to avoid juice if possible. And I've always been nervous if she starts drinking juice that she will quit drinking milk and water. She now tries it at school after avoiding it for a year and a half, and she comes home..... "I like juice!" like we should be surprised. ha!

She is staring to learn her states and who lives where. It's easier to do the puzzle when you get "in the map"

Mason loved sitting in the basement and watching Addison come down the hill on her sled or build a snowman. She would stop and talk to him, she loved it.

Practicing handwriting

I gave Addison some homework one night while I was working in the kitchen. I spelled names and she had to write them. We started with Tracey and then decided to do the Skjeveland family. I told her if she wrote all 4 names, she got 3 m&m's. She was so excited. We took this picture and sent it to the Skjeveland's. Hugh replied and said "she gets 10 m&m's if she spells the last name". Well that did it. She was jumping up and down excited to write their last name to get 10 m&m's. She did write their name, but I made her "bank" some m&m's until the next day. Ha!
She also counted the letters in each name. She told me she was tired of counting. Ha!

She was excited to feed Mason his applesauce. She loves it when they are eating the same foods.

Just making some cookies in Branch's Bakery! She was wearing her Branch costume from Trolls one day when I was making cookies. I think these cookies were for our friend Reagan, so she was really excited to decorate them. Girl loves to put sprinkles on.

Her favorite part of helping me with cookies...... licking the beaters with frosting. Ha!

Look Mom, I'm standing!

Ryan was working on getting buddy to stand. These photos are deceiving..... he was there a split second. Long enough for me to snap a picture.

Addison was showing Mason what she was watching on her iPad. He actually wanted it for a minute or two. She thinks it's fun until he tries to take it from her!

Trying a banana! I've read it's easier for them to eat if you leave the peel on. Maybe it works for some kids, not mine :) He does not do well with bananas yet.

So I was doing things around the kitchen and holding my little buddy. Then he fell asleep. Ha! I couldn't believe it. He's such a sweetheart!

I do not like hats Mom!

We have been working on her dribbling skills. She is actually doing better than we expected for a 4 year old.

This was a funny day..... this kid HATED this hat on his head. I mean, I couldn't even get one quick photo without him screaming! I even tried just laying it gently on his head.... not even putting it. He screamed.

But he was happy with no hat :)

This girl showing a little bit of sass....she had her purse on her shoulder, her sunglass holder/purse, and threw her hip out in a sassy pose.

Snowmen and Sunday School

Using her snowman kit, she was pretty excited.

We build the snowmen in the backyard so she can see him outside the living room window or the basement door.

Our church started offering in-person Sunday School or "Hope Kids" as they call it, in January. We had to sign up in advance each week due to COVID. Addison was so excited. I was excited as well, she has been asking me some difficult questions about life, death, Jesus and God. I was hoping the Sunday School teachers could help us out - ha!

Mason was 8 months old the first time he attended church. Our church was in-person prior to this, we just hadn't felt comfortable going. But I got over that when they started Sunday School because I really really wanted Addison to go!

Addison is practicing taking care of Mason, she tells us that she wants to do things for him so we don't have to. Ha! She always wants to scrub his scalp with the brush we got when he was an infant. She also likes dumping the water on his head :)

Next, she feeds Mason. Love that he looks almost as big as her! Most of the time she only feeds him part of the bottle because he gets squirmy, but sometimes she feeds him the whole thing. She is an awesome big sister!
