Fun at the Park

First time in her "new" car seat! She was probably 13 months old before we got around to changing it. She's checking herself out in the mirror. She likes to make faces at herself a lot. She's still facing backwards for now. We will see how long that lasts.....

Usually she flips the book right-side up, but she is so good she read the whole book upside down :) 

First time going down a slide! We did it a couple times and she didn't show any emotion. 

 But the swings, she LOVED. She was laughing and having a good time. There was another little girl at the park that was talking to her and she loved that too. She thinks little kids are hilarious.

She liked this slide better. 

And tried to climb up the slide right away. She has a little slide at daycare that she always tries to climb up backwards. She actually fell and bit through her lip on the slide at daycare. Clearly, that did not deter her! 

The Red Panda

Addison has been practicing bowls/containers on her feet. We are convinced her goal is to perform at halftime of an ISU Game like The Red Panda :)

This picture is of "The Red Panda"  - her show is balancing bowls are on her feet while balancing on a unicycle, then she flips the bowls onto her head. She's pretty amazing. She's been performing at Hilton for years, then was on America's Got Talent a few years ago. We think this is where Addison got the idea. Ryan's been showing her youtube videos so that Addison can practice her technique. ha! 

My little buddies

We called this success :) We had Henry, Addison, and Henry all sitting still. Shortly after this, my kid started crying and trying to climb off the couch. We learned we need to take the photos earlier in the night! Lauren and Caleb were in town and it was good to see them! 

Mother's Day 2017! Addison bought me a cookie - it was delicious. I even shared a tiny bite with her. We had to celebrate Mother's Day later, I had to go into work that afternoon. 

This was actually the day before Mother's Day. I ran a relay race with Kelly. I had two legs that totaled around 8.5 miles....Kelly had 3 legs that totaled around 16 miles. We started in Jefferson at 5:45am and ended in downtown DSM. It was a fun day, minus the running part. Haha just kidding! It was a really fun group of girls. The running wasn't so bad but it was SO HOT. I ran from Adel to Waukee at 4pm with the sun beating down and the only shade was from the power lines :) I still have the tan lines in the middle of my calves from my capris. I would do it again, and hopefully I would have more time to train! I was pretty proud of myself, I thought I did pretty good on the training this time. But with class two nights a week and working some nights and weekends it was tough. 

So the running group stayed in Ames and laughed at how many containers of cool whip Rita has. I listed off the many uses of cool whip and they thought that was humorous. I even had Ryan count ours, we had 16. I told the girls when that stuff goes on sale, you gotta buy it! Later that week, I came downstairs to find Ryan eating it with a spoon. So I had to take a picture and send it to the group! 

Just taking a ride on the John Deere....She hasn't figured out how to go forward yet, only reverse. 

We were trying our swimming suit on before our trip to CA! 

Playing with her noisy sports game. The basketball hoop has some give so she likes to pull it down. 

She's the only one who has a chair to sit in in the basement. 

Being that it was over a month ago, I don't remember why I took this photo. But she sure is happy! 

My Singing Friends

Oh the toddler fits - she was SO MAD at me for taking away her pacifier. She just screamed and screamed :)

Ryan and I were quite amused by this situation.....she gets her pacifier any way she can!! We started taking it away unless in the car or sleeping, and so she started doing this :) It's on a string connected to her car seat, so she stood there sucking on it! 

Goofy kid with her banana toothbrush - there is a great video with this one that I will have to find and post. 

She loves her big kid chair! She sits in it maybe for a 1.5 seconds at a time, but she sits in it a lot :) 

She was sitting on the couch like a big kid reading her books. Sometimes I take photos just because I want to remember her adorable outfits......

First time drinking out of a sippy cup!! Oh my gosh was that a battle. Apparently we are the only people who had issues. Even daycare said "I've never really had a kid resist the sippy cup". It was a couple weeks of fighting with her before she finally drank out of it!

12 months

Took this one on a sleepy morning, it's hard to see but her hair is standing straight up :)

It's a jammie day :) Garth (dog) and Henry got her some super cute French Bulldog. I think Garth picked them out.....

 We had a busy day cleaning and doing laundry. Addison was a big help! She loves to pull all of the clothes out of the washer.

Now if only I could teach her how to fold them......

1 year photos

We had our 1 year photos taken the first weekend of May. Addison did great! 

She sat and played with her toes in the grass for the longest time and we couldn't get her to look at the camera!
