First Day of First Grade

First day of school! Addison was quite excited. And isn't this the cutest picture!! Mason just wants to do whatever Addison is doing. 

Look at Mason's face - ha! 

She's getting on the bus at Tender Years again, Mason and I walked her to the bus the first day so I could get a picture. She then asked me every day for the next month if I would walk her out to the bus. ha! 

Meanwhile, Mason plays with friends at daycare. He's in the two year old and our favorite teacher left. We were so sad. 

This girl has been BEGGING for cotton candy for weeks. Ryan and I think it's terrible, so we didn't want to buy it. But we went to the summerfest party in Huxley and finally let her buy some. She was so excited. Then didn't think it was very good. Haha!! She ate some of it, but not much. Ha! 

I guess I didn't take many photos, but the city party had a bunch of inflatables on one street they shut down. It's a street that we take to dance class. So every time in the last 8 months that we drive on that street, Mason says "That's where the party was". Every. Single. Time. Haha! 

There was this big inflatable where you had to climb some stairs on the outside, then when you got inside, you jumped on top of these giant soccer balls and tried not to fall. It was a pretty cool one I had never seen. Addison was nervous but made it all the way across without falling! 
 

School Open House

1st Grade!! She is pretty excited. 

Miss Neville is her teacher this year. Miss Neville graduated from Iowa State and it's her first year teaching! 

Her locker (obviously). She can't reach the top shelf, but thankfully her friend Sade is just two lockers down and about a head taller. Also, she gets her OWN locker! (I was impressed)

Pride Rock, Adventureland, and the Zoo!

Annual picture at the pride rock in Bondurant. Little more difficult since we don't live in Bondurant but that's okay! We drove through the old neighborhood and looked at all the new developments in town. 

Our little skeeball pirate..... multiple times this summer, he pushed the "start" button (because he likes to push buttons" and then all the balls came down. He got a free game! This happened more than once. Ha! 

Little race car driver. This kind of makes me sad.... we didn't get season passes this year. I'm going to miss Adventureland!

We had purple cupcakes for Grandma Rita's birthday. 

Mason's favorite animal, the zebra! It's 8 months later and it's still his favorite! He got a zebra balloon animal just 2 nights ago at an event.

 It happened to be Princess Day when we went to the zoo..... we didn't realize that. You had to pay extra to go to the Princess Party, thankfully Addison was okay missing it. :) 

Last day in Florida

Happy kiddos in the pool! 

We took a video to send to Tracey of what she taught them. She taught them "swimming lessons" in Mexico, which was the joke because she doesn't know how to swim. She taught them to kick, do scoops, and make it rain. They thought it was fun!

A little out of order, but we were getting prepared for the pirate cruise. Arggh Matey! 

Sad day, we were on the way home. Can you spot 2 crazy kids? 

We had to rush back to make it to the high school where the school merchandise truck was selling gear. We didn't always have clothes last year when we were told to wear school apparel, so we rush over to the last 5 minutes of the store being open. Got ourselves a flag Ballard shirt! 

She got this beautiful fur purse the last time she was at Tracey's house..... she carried it around for weeks. It went in the car with us and she was constantly counting how many coins she had. In fact, she even got it out last week when we were doing a math problem with money. Ha! 

Tiny Lizards

It's fun now that Mason can float in the pool (or that I trust his floatie now, ha!) Addison has gotten a lot better at swimming as well.

Pool-side nap - we wore him out and he just climbed up on a chair and fell asleep!

Jungle Golf!

We went to a new mini golf place..... Jungle Golf! Mason was in heaven. This was in his prime loving zebras phase. 

It was a good mini golf place too! 

Addison got to do a treasure hunt at this place, she was excited. She got it completed and then got a chip for a free game! 

My little pre-teen and her poses - ha! As we left the kiddos each got to pick a toy, Mason picked a zebra car and we made a comment about his love for zebras and the lady gave him a zebra ring too. Addison got a giraffe ring and car. 

We went to the train park but the train wasn't running. 

So we played on the park instead! It was pretty hot but we had a good time. Then went back and got in the pool!!
